                                                              Third Grading Is Over...

                 One grading period left before we leave our dear school. 3^rd grading is done. Time flies so fast. Reminiscing the past is all we can do now and try to get lesson and learn from it.

                This grading, we said goodbye to homepage and welcome FrontPage. We said goodbye to our practice teacher in ICT, Miss Melanie Queyquep and meet the new one, Miss Raiza Impelido and Miss Donna Quillopo. This grading I learned a lot about the software MS FrontPage and FrontPage itself. I learned how to create FrontPage. I also discovered the different parts of MS FrontPage and the uses of it. I can conclude that Frontpage is much better than homepage.

                The fact is I didn’t go up to this moment without hesitation or encountering problems. Well, as usual, I encountered the common problem of some students. We had lack of time not only in our subject ICT but also other subject because of so many activities that affects our classes. We meet only four times a week in ICT but as I said a while back we excuse in our class because of some activities. The result is we didn’t discuss the FrontPage well.  At first, we are very hard up to catch up with our lessons and to make our project FrontPage. Good thing is I learned little by little because I kept on discovering the different way to make my frontpage better and presentable.

                Moving on, I’ll be better for this last grading. I’ll do my best to face all the challenges and problems that may come on my way.

 

New Year, New Me

                                                              CHANGE for the BETTER

                New Year starts another blank book for us to write on it and complete until the end of the year. A new year is another chance for us to get it right and make things better.  What does New Year mean to me? The year to CHANGE.

                Another chapter of my life is done meaning another year is done. Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013! Another chance to make things better. Another chance to change for the better. I didn’t promise anything neither makes that so called New Year’s Resolution. Why? Simply because I know myself so much. First, promises are meant to be broken. And I’m afraid that I’ll break those promises. Second, I expect that some of my New Year’s Resolution at the end of the year some of them or even almost was not yet done. Lastly, it’s not easy to change. It takes time to change even if we do our best it’s not enough. For this year, meet the new me. I’ll try and do my best to maintain those good attitudes of mine like being a good friend and to change those unwanted attitudes like being lazy specially when it comes to studies. I think last year, I forgot that I must do everything to improve my study habits. Unfortunately, I failed because during the last months of 2012, instead of reviewing, I’m reading something not related to my studies and always online in social network. This year I try to be more serious in my study especially now that few months only we will turn to college life. I’ll try to change for the better.

                Changing is not an easy task it needs time before we can totally change. Let us start the New Year with love and joy. New Year means another year to keep on changing and improving for the better. Have a prosperous New Year everyone!

                                                      The True Essence of Christmas
 

 “Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making. It is more than that. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving and forgiving,” a simple yet so meaningful quote from J. C Penney.

“It’s Christmas!” but what is the essence of this? Is it having bountiful and so delicious foods in our tables? Is it really the true essence of Christmas?

For us Filipinos, our Christmas starts from the months which end with –ber. We start decorating our houses with Christmas decor; making our Christmas trees; planning our Christmas Parties; listing and buying special gifts for our relatives, close friends or best friend and special someone; caroling. Many say that we, Filipinos are the one who has the longest celebration of Christmas which is true. 

Christmas; the time to enjoy with family and other relatives, the time to forgive and forget though it’s too hard, the time to give love, time and anything that money can’t buy to our love ones and the time to remember the real reason why we celebrate Christmas, the time to remember the birth of the Only Son, our Savior Baby Jesus. Christmas is the season of peace, love,  joy and good tidings. This celebration reminds us that we should share, rejoice, love one another, forgive and forget. This is the true essence of Christmas for me.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Let us remember the True Essence of Christmas.

"Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities: Progress For All"

                                       Say YES to Gender Equality, Say NO to Discrimination!

As I surf the internet, a quotation about equal rights for women really caught my heart and attention. This was quoted by Kofi Annan and it goes this way, “…gender equality is critical to the development and peace of every nation.” Speaking of that women’s right, gender equality, etc., the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration is "Equal rights, equal opportunities: Progress for all."

I remember a woman in a pageant who really stunned and stood out among the rest. During the Question & Answer Portion,  I’m not really sure if it was the host or one of the judges asked the question and the question goes like this, “What is the essence of a woman?” then the lady/contestant said, “Just being a woman is God's gift. The origin of a child is a mother, a woman. She shows a man what sharing, caring, and loving is all about. That is the essence of a woman.” See, woman is a God’s gift. There is an essence of a woman. Women must be treated special also. Gender Equality must ruin our world. Let changes come. Women must have the right to be sent in schools, to do not only household chores but also to run businesses and join the world of politics, the government. Discrimination among women must be cross-out. Let the women go out in their cages and meet freedom. Let the women leave the past and the beliefs that women are just staying at home, doing the household chores, taking good care of their children, no right to run businesses; no right to vote or join politics; no right to finish their studies. Let the men and women be equal not only in rights and opportunities but also be equal in everything because in God’s eye we are all equal.

"Equal rights, equal opportunities: Progress for all,” this theme, this International Women’s Day Celebration emphasizes that women really play important roles not only in our respective society but in the whole world. This emphasizes that equal rights and equal opportunities can lead us to progress, to improvement and to success.

And now, I leave a simple yet meaningful quotation by Shimon Peres, “You know who is against democracy in the Middle East? The husbands. They got used to their way of life. Now, the traditional way of life must change. Everybody must change. If you don't give equal rights to women, you can't progress.”

We Can Stop Climate Change

                     We can’t deny the fact that almost everything changes. Some even say, “Nothing is permanent in this World, except CHANGE.” Nowadays, we are facing big issues such as climate change, one of the Nationwide’s biggest problems.  What is this climate change?

                According to the google Climate Change is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in average weather conditions, or in the distribution of weather around the average conditions (i.e., more or fewer extreme weather events). Climate change is caused by factors that include oceanic processes (such as oceanic circulation), variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics and volcanic eruptions, and human-induced alterations of the natural world; these latter effects are currently causing global warming, and "climate change" is often used to describe human-specific impacts.

                

           This Climate Change causes a lot of problems that will surely affect all the living creatures in the world. If there’s a problem there are a lot of solutions. So, we can do a lot to prevent the Climate Change. As a student, we can help the nation by simply planting trees, by observing the 3R; Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and not burning plastics. Though we are young we can do something to help the Nation prevent the Climate Change.
