My Message To Our President

Dear Mr. President,

It’s my pleasure to write a letter to the most powerful person here in the Philippines, Honorable Benigno Simeon C. Aquino IIII. Good day sir.

It’s been two years when you were elected as the President. You have the most important role in our country. You have the hardest duties and responsibilities because you’re handling the whole Philippines. Sir, during the campaign and inauguration, you promised improvement of our country. “Kayo ang BOSS ko”, “Kung walang kurupt, walang mahirap”, these were your most popular lines during your campaign, inauguration and even in your SONA or the State of the Nation Address. Many Filipinos including me are expecting a better Philippines at the end of your administration because of those lines and promises you told to the Filipinos. You had implemented come projects and services like the “No Wang-Wang Policy,” “terminating all those government officials who are stealing the money of the people of the Philippines and all those late appointee of the past administration,” “K-12 Program” and there were more projects and services that you’ve implemented already. This “No Wang-Wang Policy” was one of your best projects because this shows the discrimination in our country. There were good projects and services but our country is not yet improving up to now. Our country is still in the lowest when it comes to the richest country in Asia. I think these projects and programs are not enough to bring the Philippines in higher rank. For me, there was project that increases the expenses of many Filipinos specially our dear parents, the K-12 Program. Secondary level becomes six years instead of four years. Sir, you said that this will help many young Filipinos because even though the student is not yet graduated from college, still he/she can find a job. What jobs is waiting for them? Janitor? Carpenter? Maid? Or he/she will force to go to other country to be a Domestic Helper? I think you just want to follow other countries and you don’t think of the possible problems that our country will encounter tomorrow.

Though you had lot of projects implemented, those were still not enough to uplift our country. You’re the first bachelor president so we can’t deny the fact that sometimes the news about you was your love life. As you are finding your special someone you must also your responsibilities and duties. You have four more years and I expect a better Philippines and better life of Filipinos. You’re not that good leader but I trust you that you can make the Philippines better or even the best so don’t break that trust. You must give us many reasons why we must be proud of being a Filipino. You must make us and the tourists believe that “IT’S MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES!”
